Introducing: "Let's make a soccer team!" by SEGA

Let's make a soccer team!

Such a nice football game! Not the best graphics indeed, but it's okay to give it a try!

It's like a manager game, where you create your own club and place it somewhere in Europe: England, France, Corsica, Italy, Spain, Netherlands or Germany.

Introducing the non-FIFA football's new era: ConIFA

Have you ever imagined non-recognised countries, such as Northern Cyprus, Padania, Man Island etc. participating in international football tournaments? Well, it's high time they actually do! 2 years ago an association was established in Luleå, Sweden, the so called "ConIFA" aka Confederation of Independent Football Associations.

This association consists of 26 members;
tip: (date of establishment, country, affiliated continent)
ConIFA started almost immediately designing the non-FIFA competitions!
Last year, Swedish city Östersund held the 2014 ConIFA World Cup, won by the County of Nice. The next is to be held in 2016, but without invitations; there will be qualification for the first time! The host is still not announced by ConIFA.

There will be more competitions, like the 2015 ConIFA European Football Cup, held by Székely Land in Debrecen, Hungary. The venues will be Nagyerdei Stadion and Gyulai István Atlétikai Stadion. There will be 8 participants, divided in two groups;

GROUP A
  • Padania (Italy)
  • Abkhazia (Georgia)
  • Ellan Vannin (Isle of Man, 2014 World Cup finalists)
  • Romani people (Germany)
GROUP B
  • County of Nice (France, 2014 World Cup champions)
  • Northern Cyprus (Cyprus)
  • South Ossetia (Georgia)
  • Székely Land (Romania, hosts)
The European competition is to be held every two years.

New project!!!

Dear PC Gaming friends,

in late September I was planning to start a new project about PES 2012 editing (ingame editing and editing via apps). Well, it's high time I leave it for some time, because I had another good inspiration! This does not mean that my other project will just vanish and not be done by me!

To be more accurate, first of all, I'm going to wait for the UEFA Europa League and Champions League Group Stages to finish. The knock-out stages consist of less clubs, thus making my project way easier! Any team that qualifies for the knock-out stage of both competitions and is not included in PES 2015, shall be created by me. My guides are: the PES Stats Databasethe Winning Eleven Hellas Community and Google Images.

The first club I am going to create are Asteras Tripolis F.C., this season's Europa League debutants from Greece. After Asteras, I will also move on to other clubs. As I've explained you, it will be easier when the Group Stages of UCL and UEL are over.

ASTERAS TRIPOLIS

Here is a small part of my work so far. I hope I can turn some parts of it into videos!

Beginning with Asteras' main goalkeeper, Tomás Košický from Slovakia.

Front view. The gloves are manufactured by uhlsport, like in reality, while the shoes I use are manufactured by NIKE, but I am not sure about the actual model he is wearing.

Rear view.

Team Name: Asteras Tripolis, Home Stadium: Theodoros Kolokotronis Stadium (I've edited a generic stadium, since there is no stadium creator included in PES 2015). Coach name: Staikos Vergetis (Pronounced: Stáikos Veryétis) from Greece. Rival: Olympiacos Piraeus (due to 2013 Cup Final and this season's fixed -according to some people- match).

Home Kit. The NIKE logo, the Greece logo, Asteras's emblem and the LOTTO logo are not mine.
Away Kit. The NIKE logo, Asteras's emblem and the LOTTO logo are not mine.

Third/Alternate Kit. The NIKE logo, the Greece logo, Asteras's emblem and the LOTTO logo are not mine.

Goalkeeper Kit. The NIKE logo, the Greece logo, Asteras's emblem and the LOTTO logo are not mine.

The picture I've used for Asteras's coach.

Club's banners: "ASTERAS', "THIS IS TRIPOLI", "TIGERS", "ARCADIAN POWER"*
* A friend of mine had a better idea: to put "ASTERAS FANS" instead of "ARCADIAN POWER". I have to assume that I prefer his idea.

PES 2012: EDIT GUIDE + MASTER LEAGUE INFO

Pro Evolution Soccer 2012... So many memories... Slightly better than its predecessor, with better soundtrack (personal opinion) and for the first time, a video-background.

All of us have at least played once the Master League mode... From the legendary team in the older series (Ivarov, Castolo, Minanda, Jaric, Stremer, Iouga, Dodo, Espimas, Ximelez etc.) and the short Second Division "adventure" to the sudden promotion to the First Division, with an updated roster and better opponents. If the player's (you) lucky and stays for one more season in the First Division (and finishes high), they can experience the stunning European aura of the International (European) Tournaments! Everything mentioned above can be achieved by any player, so any tips on how to succeed are unnecessary!

So I decided to explore Master League's secrets and unfold its unique characteristics that only a phew PES fanatics know. In parallel, I'd like also to make an editing tutorial -for Edit fans mostly-. At this point, I'd like to thank the Czech PES Fans for helping me with their programs, not to mention Jen Key's app for the video convertion.

The value of what I'm trying to do will be unveiled only if I prove that it's useful, so I'm going to make a video with more details. So, stay tuned and have fun!

Haiti: Doping pioneers

Jean-Claude Duvalier died on October 4th. He was the son of François Duvalier aka "Papa Doc", a Haitian dictator. "Bébé Doc" (Jean-Claude) became Haiti's leader in 1971. That was the year when Haiti had a flag change. Duvalier tried to reconstruct the flag... in a nationalist way! How? He actually brought back the colors of the 19th Century, from the Haitian Empire era, which are black and red, used worldwide by nationalists.

Duvalier's era flag. The flag has a vertical separation, while the Coat of Arms is bigger than the one below, with dark colors.

Today's flag. The separation is now horizontal. The Coat of Arms is smaller than in the first picture. The black color in both the main flag and the Coat of Arms has been replaced with blue.

It was then when I remembered that Haiti had competed in the 1974 World Cup with the upper flag! Oh and apart from that, Haiti National Team have a negative record, in the only World Cup they have ever competed in! It was after the Italy versus Haiti match, when FIFA decided to organize a doping control. Haiti's Ernst Jean-Joseph (now 66), a former Chicago Sting and Violette (Port-au-Prince) legend, became the first footballer who was arrested for doping (in a World Cup main tournament phase).

Just to know, from the first Group, both Germanies (West Germany and East Germany aka German Federal Republic and German Democratic Republic respectively) qualified to the next round.

Additionally, this was the first (and last?) World Cup where the Democratic Republic of the Congo has ever competed in (called Zaire between 1971 and 1997).

Welcome to my brand new section!

The logo of my brand new idea: A modern football (soccer) ball, lying on an ancient Greek bench. A retro leather ball is serving its successor, so in other words the modern ball has enslaved the leather one.

This blog was created so I could express my football theories and also to present my football world. I decided this month, after almost a year without writing a single post, to create 3 sections:

- FOOTBALL NEWS: The real news will be posted there (in Greek).

- Επί του Καναπέος (=on the bench): My ideas, my theories and all of my football ideology will be presented in this section (in Greek).

- On the bench: Selected articles from the previous 2 sections will be re-written in English and then posted in this section.

Let's hope you will enjoy my football world :-)
